Q: What is a Certified Translation?

The definition of a Certified Translation varies from country to country. In general, a certified translation is a translation that is accompanied by a signed statement that the translator is competent in the source and target languages and that the translation is an exact translation of the source document.

A major difference between a Certified and a Non-Certified translation is that in a Non-Certified translation, the translator is free to use her own personal style and tone, whereas a Certified translation must be an exact translation of the source document.

Q: Will my translation be notarized?

Yes. All translations will be both Certified and Notarized.

Q: How does the process work?

You upload your document to your own password-protected secure client portal. Your certified, notarized translation will be available for download from your portal within two business days. Original copies of your translated document will also be mailed to you. You may monitor the progress of your translation by logging into your portal for real-time updates.

Q: How long does the process take?

Most orders are completed within two business days. This obviously depends on the source language and the availability of a particular translator. You will be notified by email as soon as your order is complete and ready for download. You may login to your secure account dashboard at http://www.officialtranslate.com to view real time status updates of your translation.

Q: Do you provide same day service?

All orders are typically completed within 48 hours. However, we realize that in some situations you will need your completed documents even sooner and we will generally be able to accommodate you. Please contact us via the Contact Us page regarding same-day service.

If available in your language, same day orders must be placed by 12:00 noon Pacific Time (USA) Monday - Friday. All same day orders will be completed, shipped and uploaded to the secure client portal within 24 hours of submission. Orders that are received after 12:00 noon Pacific Time on Friday, on weekends or on holidays will be processed on the next business day. All same-day service orders are sent via FedEx Overnight shipping (within USA only) or USPS International Express.

Q: How can I be sure that the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) will accept my translated document?

We offer a 100% guarantee that your translated document will be accepted by the USCIS. We only use qualified native-speaking translators who are experienced in translating documents for U.S. immigration purposes, so there is no need to worry.

Q: What languages do you translate from?

Our translators work in more than 140 languages.

Q: Can I get status reports on my translations?

Yes. Updates about the progress being made on your translation will be sent to your secure client portal. You will be given an estimated time of completion and will be notified by email when your document is ready.

Q: What if I need changes to my translation?

We do our best to provide you with the most accurate translation possible. However, if you have any concerns or questions regarding your final translation, we are more than happy to have our translators review your document again at no additional charge.

Q: Will I receive an original translation of my document by mail?

Yes, all orders include shipment of two (2) original certified and notarized translated documents. All domestic orders will be sent via USPS Priority Mail at no additional charge.

You may also request expedited shipping (via FedEx Overnight in the U.S.) during the checkout process. All international orders will be shipped via USPS International Express or USPS International Priority.

Q: Can you provide me with an electronic version of my translated document?

Yes, all orders include a high resolution PDF of the certified and notarized translation. You will be notified by email as soon as your translated document has been uploaded to your secure client portal on our website.

Q: How can I be sure that you are using the best translators?

We use only the most qualified native-speaking translators in the industry. Our translators have years of experience with all types of translation projects, especially with government and immigration documents. Our extensive network of professional translators offer certified document translation services in over 140 languages. Additionally, all orders are double-checked via a final review process by a second native-speaking translator.

Q: Can I be sure that my documents will remain confidential?

Absolutely! Your documents will remain completely confidential throughout the translation process.

For this reason, we will only upload your file into your secure client portal which you will have access to using your own username and password.

Q: I would prefer to mail or fax my original document. Is that OK?

Yes of course. In order to provide you with the quickest, most efficient, service we prefer that you upload your document to our website. However, if you prefer to send your document via mail or fax, please see our Contact Us page for details.

Q: Do I need to send the original copy of my document?

No. In fact, you should keep the original. We only ask you to provide us with a clean and legible copy of the original.

Please do not send us original documents! We are not responsible if originals are lost in the mail.
